The Inventor’s Patent Academy is presented to you by an alliance of universities, nonprofits, companies, and other stakeholders under the banner: Invent Together. Our team is dedicated to ensuring all inventors have the opportunity to protect their IP and benefit from the U.S. patent system.
The Course Creators

Bernard Greenspan, Ph.D.
IP Law Instructor at UCSD, USD, and Bellevue College
Dr. Greenspan, a scientist, inventor, and registered patent agent, has taught IP Law and Patent Searching in the IP certificate program at UCSD Extension for more than 15 years. He also teaches IP Law in USD’s paralegal studies program and Patent Law in Bellevue College’s Molecular Biosciences program in Washington State.

Erin Kelley, MA, MBA
Founder, Hexalign
Erin Kelley is the founder of Hexalign, a consulting firm focused on STEM innovation. She brings expertise in program design, strategy, and commercialization. Her background includes roles at IBM as a Senior Change and Learning Consultant and at the National Women’s Business Council as Director of Research and Policy.

Sudeepto Roy
VP of Engineering, Qualcomm Incorporated
Sudeepto Roy has been with Qualcomm for over 20 years, leading innovation across infrastructure, IoT, and wireless technologies from 2G to 5G. His roles span engineering, product management, and startup engagement. He currently serves as Vice President of Engineering, driving global device development and technology strategy.

Ram Krishnan
Senior Director of Engineering, Qualcomm Incorporated
Ram’s tenure at Qualcomm spans over three decades, during which he played pivotal roles in various divisions. Presently, Ram is a member of the Global Ecosystem Development team within Qualcomm’s Government Affairs group, engaged IP and technology advocacy efforts globally, with particular focus on US, India, South East Asia (SEA), and Middle East Africa (MEA) regions.

Morris Newman
VP for Project Development, New England Invents
Morris previously served for seven years as the Executive Director of the Pro Bono Advisory Council, a 501(c)(3) that assists the US Patent and Trademark Office with administering the patent pro bono legal services program. Morris says: “It is an honor to assist the NEI in their mission empowering America’s independent inventors’ through education, access and advocacy.”
